+ve spin of death

Yesterday en route to Mumbai from Delhi, we were caught in a difficult air pocket. There was extreme turbulence.

…..suddenly the cabin crowded with laughters and whispers hid behind people’s fear

… various things inside of the cabinets in the aircraft started tumbling inside and making noises. The turbulence would offer difficult jerk sometimes and then sometimes almost a free fall. God’s name visited the most during that time of the flight. Finally as safe landing.

The fear of death exists at cellular level and even at the cognition level. The cells have been programmed to individually analyse fear of different forms…jerk, push, fall, prey-predator, etc. And at the cognition level, the survival has many layers of insecurities that lead to death and direct fear of death itself.

A great poet once said: It’s not sad that we all die but it is sad and appalling that we let a lot die inside of us even when we are alive.

The same exact thing resonates in the speech given by Steve Jobs @ Stanford University:

“”"If you live each day as if it were your last, someday you most certainly will be right.
Remembering that I will be dead soon is single most important tool that has helped me make big choices in life. All external expectation, pride or ego, fear of failure, fear of embarrassment for asking, these things just fall by way side in the face of death.”"”

Tagore in “Geetanjali “has an interesting Poetic Take on Start of life and end of it

“”"”"I was not aware of the moment when I first crossed the threshold of this life.
What was the power that made me open out into this vast mystery like a bud in the forest at midnight!
When in the morning I looked upon the light I felt in a moment that I was no stranger in this world, that the inscrutable without name and form had taken me in its arms in the form of my own mother.
Even so, in death the same unknown will appear as ever known to me. And because I love this life, I know I shall love death as well.
The child cries out when from the right breast the mother takes it away, in the very next moment to find in the left one its consolation.”"”"”"
The eternal truth is that each of us consuming this mail will have one day as the last day in the universe in the current human form. The only thing that will matter is whether we were able to open or unwrap the gift called life and share it with as many people as we could…

…make a difference in people’s lives
…make this life count
…did we quest for eternal truth
…did we play a role in making peace @home, @workplace, in the society
…did we play a role to be pure amidst various lure
…for how many people were we the cause of their happiness
…did we exercise the massive tool called the power of will

In the worldly desires of professionalism ( career, increments, promotion, peer pressure, etc) and the personal duties (Maslow’s hierarchy of needs), we all tend to miss this important, imminent, obvious reality.

Don’t live the death, don’t die the life
Smile, get up, walk, do something,
Try be pure, try be sure
Shy the bad, shy the fad,
Be yourself, loving and humble,
Do … do … just DO something good …before you tumble.

Happy Life…during now and after.
