Annemie Ress
, (Founder-Curator of Purple Beach-UK, Former Global Head-People Innovation of eBay), has been supporting Breathe India with her wonderful insights and global network. Here we would love to share some of her initial thoughts.

Annemie started doing yoga in 2010, and she mentions that hatha yoga has been fundamental in terms of transforming and just bringing a sense of calmness into her life. She also keeps herself attempting at fun and sports and has done New York Marathon too.
Below is a brief conversation with her

Hemant: Corporate Life is about decision making. Essentially about chosing one decision over another...the right versus more right dilemma. How does mind-body-soul balance help one get through this?

Annemie: It provides me with balance and unlocks the power of focus in me...by nurturing and paying attention to the mind-body-soul connection, I am able to not only choose the more right solution, but also be open to the fact that inspiration for the solution might come from unexpected places. Leadin
g researchers today also prove how these practices are helping reduce confirmation bias, improve information processing & instill stillness.

Hemant: The Word "people" is synonymous with potential. However its reduced consistently with fast life...people go fast and less deep. What's your take on it?
Annemie:  I believe that people would do and feel better if they realize that the definition of success is very personal. For me its about being able to go to bed at night feeling that you’ve had a fulfilled day and contributed in a small way to making the world a better place and I know that sounds idealistic, but I really mean that. For me, failure would be going to bed at night and not being able to say, “I showed compassion to someone today,” or I did something that was hard to do, but I did it in a way that helped someone to do something that was really tough.
Hemant:  What would you say to corporate who are not exposed to mindfulness?
Annemie: Mindfulness is extremely fundamental for focus. It helps organization achieve creativity and productivity. We are all well exposed to what these two words mean for a corporate...hence I believe its not an option but a strategic imperative for organizations.
Annemie would share more such insights with us in times to come. Keep breathing slow and deep.
